Polyester Resin GP

Resin raw material is anhydride, anhydride, and standard diol, dissolved in
styrene, features medium viscosity and viscosity, proper rigidity and strength, fast post-cure,
the excellent mechanical property, widely used, suitable for normal FRP products
Polyester used in composite applications where it is typically combined with glass fiber
reinforcement to create fiberglass – also known as glass reinforced polyester (GRP).

The mechanical properties of polyester are substantially enhanced when combined with glass fiber.
Acting as a low-cost reinforcement phase to polyester’s matrix phase, Classic examples of
fiberglass linings, coatings, and molds include, but are not limited to storage tanks, pipes,
automotive components and marine components (e.g., boat and yacht hulls and decks) as well
as fiberglass roof materials and associated fiberglass repair kits. It is also used as an ingredient
in speciality coatings and adhesives.

Low viscosity – this makes any composite easy to shape during laminating Short curing times
(<12 – 24 hours) Polyesters can withstand temperatures up to 80 °C.

Good flexibility once cured – this makes it an excellent ingredient for composite structures like fibreglass (GRP) The
elongation capacity is quite good. When used in composites, it creates a structure that is 3
times more flexible than that of carbon fibre.
